The United States of StageDrop is a series highlighting customer success stories from a different state each week. This week's United States of StageDrop features the Peach State, Georgia!
Located in Savannah, Georgia - the âHostess City of the Southâ - the Church at Godley Station is a Baptist (SBC) church that aptly describes itself as âa friendly, welcoming group of folks who want to help people connect to God and to each other.â
The churchâs current building, a 12,000-square foot worship center built in 2009, features a large area devoted to its childrenâs ministry, the Godley Kidz Clubhouse. When Associate Pastor of Children and Families Steve McAliley needed a soundbooth for the Clubhouse, he sought out a portable solution. âI needed to figure out a way to do the soundbooth, and I didnât want to build one just in case I got in there and used it for six months and said, âyou know what, the soundbooth really needs to be over here.ââ
Pastor McAliley came across StageDropâs selection of DJ facades, which seemed to fit the bill, so he called to request a quote and ended up purchasing 2 ProX 4 Panel Collapse-and-Go DJ Facade Packages for the childrenâs ministry classrooms. DJ Facades provide the look of an elegant professional work area, hiding cables, protecting equipment and managing crowd control for the operator. Made with lightweight, powder-coated, scratch-resistant aluminum, DJ Facade panels are easily removable for cleaning and can be interchanged for color combinations using the black and white scrims included.
Pastor McAliley is thrilled with the new facades. âWe love the DJ facades,â he says. âI didnât want to build a permanently located soundbooth. We got the first one as our soundbooth, and that solved a big problem. I didnât have to build anything - I just put a table that fit behind the facade, and it works beautifully.â

The church uses the second DJ facade as a barrier for the indoor playground area during Sunday School. âThe pre-schoolers (3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds) basically come in there and they do worship, but with the playground visible they get very distracted,â Pastor McAliley says, âso we use the facade to block it off so they can focus on what they need to, and then we pull it so they can go play, and that works amazing.â
The church also uses the DJ facade for their shadow puppet theater shows. They place a bright light behind the white scrims and tell a Bible story with characters and scenery held by sticks. âWeâve found a lot of creative uses for the DJ facades - they are really easy to handle, easy to put together, easy to store.â
